Your product was also recently featured on another national TV show? We will be making a road trip because I want to see my product on the store shelves. The closest test store will be in Naples. We're going to be in 45 stores (initially). Bed, Bath & Beyond is doing a national test. We are going to be in Bed, Bath & Beyond stores, probably by the end of the month, and we're in talks with Target and Wal-Mart. So we're adding this new facet, this additional revenue stream. We've done a huge amount of sales in the past 14 months and I'm really excited that none of those sales have been in any type of big-box-type retailer. Is your company still experiencing a big upward swing?Ībsolutely. I wasted thousands of dollars by not having a shipping system tied into my website and some of the marketing efforts we did in the beginning were really just a waste of money. I would have reached out to more mentors, to more business owners that had been in the same position I was in, to avoid some of the growing pains. If you could do it all over again, anything you'd do differently? Instead of buying another one, I started working on developing a better mousetrap. I purchased an inexpensive aluminum wallet that was meant to protect your information but I broke it. I realized this was going to be an enormous problem. I saw electronic pick-pocketing demonstrated at a security conference in 2012. We sell SignalVault on our website,, for $19.95 for two. It's essentially the same size as a credit card and it acts as a personal jammer for your credit and debit card information. It fits into any wallet and lasts about three years. It does not require batteries, charging or activation. I started it in September 2013. SignalVault is a high-tech solution against electronic pickpockets. When did you launch your company and can you describe your product? In the past 14 months, we've done $3.2 million in sales and that's since appearing on "Shark Tank." We were doing about $275,00 a year before that.

I had to hire employees and lease an office space. I had been operating the business by myself out of my house. Immediately after "Shark Tank," we did more sales than we had the previous two years. Life has been crazy and the growth of the company has been phenomenal. It's now been 14 months since your appearance on "Shark Tank." What's happened since then? This past Wednesday, at the Daytona Beach 1 Million Cups second anniversary celebration, Gilpin returned to give an update on his business. The episode had just aired on national television two months earlier. The 35-year-old DeBary entrepreneur talked about his experience appearing on ABC's " Shark Tank" show.
